Likewise, I'm dying to see the inevitable comparison video's on YouTube also between the two products.
I'm suspecting right from the start they will show Echo saying "Sorry I can't help you with that" whilst the Google Home coming up with an answer it's pulled from the web. I think that's pretty much a given.
I'm really keen to hear! how the single speaker on the Home (with 2 passive side things) compares to the two real speakers and horn/tube on the Echo device.
Really the Echo SHOULD be better, depending on the speakers Amazon use of course, but with two real speakers bass and treble it has the physical potential to be much better (mark 2 perhaps?)
I'd have pre-ordered one, and would of loved to give you my views and thoughts against my Echo, but I'm in the UK, that land Google has not seen fit to sell to yet
