Dot hardwired to Bose speaker

I can't figure out if it's possible to get the Dot to "power on" a speaker.  Any luck here?

Well the Dot has a speaker on one of it's circuit boards, albeit only a very tiny one.
So I'm sure, given the right knowledge you could run wires from the speaker points to something external.
Two issues spring to mind. Firstly of course it will be Mono. Secondly the power to the speaker, given it's tiny physical size which is way way smaller than the diameter of the Dot itself will I'm guessing be quite low.
So that might require a little bit of something extra between the speaker and what the external speaker needs.
I'm surprised there is not more info on this.

What speaker is it, specifically? (I think Snafs mis-read your question)

Yes, perhaps I did

Power on, or Power a speaker?
The Speaker in the dot it tiny
So I would assume need tiny power to run.

After re-reading the post, I may have misread it.

I have my Dot running a pair of Audioengine speakers connected by Bluetooth.  These speakers have an auto-standby feature that powers them off after several minutes of no signal.  I'd look for speakers with this type of feature.  An alternative would be an Alexa-connected power plug that could turn on whatever is plugged into it.

It's a Bose Soundtouch 20.  The older one, without BT.

It looks like Echo integration is coming soon- https://www.soundtouch.com/CommunityDetail?_escaped_fragment_/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_SEARCH_RESULT&dc=SoundTouch&id=90633000000Tad7AAC

As for right now, can the Soundtouch be controlled with a harmony hub?
