Alarm sounds
« on: March 14, 2017, 02:29:53 pm »
Hi all
First post here but sure there will be other questions. New echo dot, just getting used to what it can do. My question is: If I turn the volume down on the device, and set an alarm, will the alarm sound with its usual volume even though the dot volume is low. Do not want to just try it out as I may be late for work lol.
Regards
John

there is a separate alarm volume for timers and alarms.  Instead of waiting till you have to get up to test it, simply set an alarm for 5 or 10 minutes from now.

How about setting it fo 30 seconds or less to test it.  Time is Money.  ;)

Forgot to add that I keep my bedroom Dot's volume on 5 most of the time.  I rarely set an alarm but I did last night.  The alarm volume was much louder than 5.  Looked on the Alexa app and it looks like it's set to about 9.  So yes, they are separate.
