No longer responds to my husband

I just got an Amazon Tap.

The first day I had it, we were using the tap button to talk to it, and it would respond to both myself and my husband.

The next day I made two changes:

- I found the hands-free setting and enabled that
- I did one session of voice training


Now, it won't respond to my husband... when he says "Alexa" it makes the usual sound at first but then immediately makes another sound (as if it's cancelling his request) and doesn't respond to him at all.

I don't know if the voice training caused this (he does have an accent...) or if on hands-free it will only respond to one person?

Any ideas?

If he hesitates too long after saying Alexa it will cancel.  Maybe return to using the button.
