I read about it earlier this morning and almost posted the link after watching the video.  Living out in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn't be able to use it to its full potential.  I see mostly City dwellers using this.  Telling you know who to add an item to my shopping list works for me.

dont really see a need for it, especially if you have alexa.

Mine came yesterday. Could turn out to be useful in the kitchen, especially the bar code scanner. And free is a lot cheaper than the cost of a dot.

One glaringly lacking feature is the timer function! You'd think that would be a no brainer for a kitchen device. My guess is they'll add a it soon, especially since it's already in the Echo and Dot.

I believe the Dash Wand runs on a single AA battery. And the device is essentially off until someone presses the button, either to speak or to scan a barcode. Maybe that's why they disabled the timer function, to extend battery life.

Runs on 2 AAA batteries. It's like a tap used to be. Only with less smarts.

Got my $20.00 back on the Dash Wand purchase.

Bought a UPS backup yesterday and the $20 was deducted from the total price.

That could be correct, but I hope not.

When I ask the device a question (i.e. how old is Donald Trump☺️)
the answer continues after releasing the button.

That doesn't prove anything but suggests it can talk without a button press.

was reading an article about the wand on cnet.  the author tested it by ordering antiperspirant.  he says he normally pay four bucks for a dual pack but when he checked his shopping cart, it was six bucks for one.    I guess if you use it for ordering, better check prices

 Every time I've checked Amazon prices for daily HBA (health and beauty aids), WM has been cheaper.  Now that they (WM) offers free 2-day shipping on most everything I'd want (in fact I've yet to come across something that wasn't available for free 2 day shipping) I've been using the WM service to have everything but cold items and produce delivered, free in two days.  I still have to go to the store but not as often and every step I can save, with 3 herniated discs, is a good thing!

I don't guess I have seen anywhere Amazon claiming best prices much lately... just "get it now" and "get it Faster"... Walmart is claiming they have free 2 day shipping... but with the caveat of minimum purchase required for most of it...

Mine has yet to scan a barcode of any type.

I kept trying about eight times in a row and she chimes in and says give me a minute to catch my breath.

For years, I've noticed that Amazon has higher prices than many brick and mortar stores. This is especially true for everyday items, such as air freshener sprays, cereal, bar soap, shampoo, etc.

Walmart has always been my go-to store for small everyday items. Just last week I bought 5 Glade air freshener sprays at Walmart for $0.97 each. Searching on Amazon, they range from $7 each to $2.50 each (in a multi-pack). I realize that shipping an item is outrageously expensive these days even for big companies that have a contract with the carriers. I used to have a business on eBay when Priority Mail was $3.85. I don't even know what it cost now. I think it's somewhere in the $6 or $7 range. That's why I am no longer have that business. Anyway, even though it's more convenient to have something delivered, I prefer save my money and drive a few miles to the local Walmart. I also have a $120 yearly membership to Costco for the same reason. The drive to Costco is about 15 miles for me.
