Samsung smart TV connects to echo but no sound

Hi
I've paired my echo with my Samsung smart TV and it says they're connected.  The TV sound is muted but there's no sound from the echo.  Both TV and echo volumes are set high. When I unpair I get sound from the TV.  I've tried unpairing/pairing several times and "forgetting" device on TV and "pairing new device" several times too.  Any help appreciated.

What are you "pairing" -- the bluetooth of each device?

Hi Mike.  Yes, pairing by bluetooth.

I have connected many Alexa devices, speakers etc to BT, but I don't have a smart TV.  I suggest you refer to your TV manual or Help at the top of Amazon home page.
