Echo restarts stopped Spotify songs after a gap EVERY TIME

Hey

Hoping someone else has figured out the fix to this.  For the last couple of months, my Echo will begin playing whatever the last song I played on Spotify was, within about an hour of me stopping it.  It will then repeat this until I open Spotify on a different device (i.e. my phone) or unplug my Echo at the mains.  This happens every time.

I've checked the Echo app, and it's not hearing a new instruction to play it, it's just coming from an internal trigger.

Anyone have any idea how to let Alexa know that stop means stop?

definitely time to call for help at Amazon technical support... but I'd certainly try a reset first, then I would alos check and see if some kind of timer is working against you in the web app/page... and stuff like that. I don't see how something like this could happen other than from a server issue, but starting with tech support would be good advice on this one.
