I am a Prime member. I ask echo show to play a book. The response is that echo show can not find it in 'my library'. What library is this referring to? Can I play files from my Amazon Drive?

what service is the book located in?  that where the library is.

I think you will need to have an Audible book subscription, or to have bought some Kindle books from Amazon. I don’t have a Show, but on an Echo your books appear under Music and Books in the user menu.
