I have been watching for the first post about the Sonos One to be posted here. It took longer than I thought it would.
I want to tell readers about my recent experience with the product. I received one upon its release date as a b-day gift from my generous wife in late October. At that time I also decided to get a new iPhone when the new model was released and the previous mode. was reduced in price by Apple. My wife offered to share the cost with me. (Unbeknownst to me) she tried to cancel the Sonos One, since she was helping out with the phone, but was informed it was shipped a day earlier so it arrived to me in a day or so. It was presented to me as a b-day gift.
Since I knew nothing about it, I checked Amazon for reviews. There were already over 20 reviews and almost half were negative. Problems were: hard to set up Alexa from folks who did not have an Alexa device (ignored those comments). It would not work in tandem with other Sonos speakers, (no problem) but the comment that Sonos refuses to put bluetooth into their products was a deal-breaker comment. How could I easily listen to my music other than Amazon streamed music? I can do this on my many other Alexa and GH devices. This, along with other negative comments convinced me the Sonos One was not for me.
The Sonos One was returned unopened to Amazon. My wife had spent enough on me with the phone assist anyway. When I found out she has tried to cancel the Sonos order, I had no problem suggesting it be returned.
So, K9, not trying to rain on your parade, and only want others considering a Sonos One to check out the reviews at Amazon and elsewhere before making a purchase decidion.
