Requested to add Last.fm scrobbling to Echo

I sent Amazon a request through the app to add Last.fm scrobbling to Prime Music for the Echo.  Here's the answer I received:

Thanks for suggesting to add the ability to scrobble amazon music to last.fm while playing via echo. This would be a great feature! I honestly did not know what scrobbling meant before your suggestion so I looked it up. This looks like a real cool feature from Last fm. Thanks for showing this to me I am going to try this on my computer at home.  The Echo being able to do this would be awesome  I will pass your idea over to our developers. They are always looking for new features to add. I hope this get added in the near future.

I don't know if the developers would do this. It sounds more like an IFTTT recipe to me.  I'm not smart enough to create those recipes. Only the kind you eat.

To "scrobble" a song means that when you listen to it, the name of the song is sent to a Web site (for example, Last.fm) and added to your music profile. Here's how it works: Once you've signed up and downloaded Last.fm, you can scrobble songs you listen to on your computer or iPod automatically.

Well, I guess I am doing a scrobblish IFTTT or two.

You can use IFTTT to (search this->) 'send a weekly email digest of songs played on Echo.' With another recipe you can 'play song on Echo, save to Google spreadsheet.'

Can you upload spreadsheets to Last.fm? If so, there here is your workaround.

I don't think you can upload spreadsheets to Last.fm, but they have an extensive API that could probably be used with IFTTT. Don't know why the developers wouldn't want to include the feature in their service. Other services like Spotify have it built in. It's a great social feature.
