Talk to Alexa via mobile app?

I haven't figured out how to talk to Alexa via the mobile app. (I.e. to add something to my shopping list, etc.) This seems like really basic functionality. Am I missing something?

I think it is just available on the Android app right now.  It works on my Samsung.

There's an android app that does that: Listens for Alexa.

Your Amazon Alexa app should have the update now if you are on Android and it will have 5 icons at the bottom of the screen--one of these is Alexa for you to push and talk and ask for the to do list or listen to music etc. You can't set reminders verbally yet.
