Alexa controlled motorized curtains
« on: March 07, 2018, 08:48:37 am »
Just installed these yesterday. It took about a total of 12 hours to complete. 7 hours for the curtain rod install and adjustments, 1 hour to install the Logitech Harmony Hub (mainly because it froze at 90% installing firmware update so had to factory reset and start over a couple of times), and then 4 hours to mess with the really bizarre way that Harmony must use "activities" instead of just sending IR command without anything else.

That's great! What brand of motorized curtain is that?

They are the Beme Erod Drapery Kit. Cost about $100 each on Amazon except they don't have it in stock for 1 or 2 months. I ended up buying it from Home Depot for the same price and shipped it to me in 2 days. It appears they drop ship from Beme in California, rather than from Home Depot.

The Beme uses an IR remote to control the curtains. That makes it easier for Alexa & Harmony integration compared to an RF remote.
