Alexa update brings “Remember This” function

what are you going to use it for?

That's the hard part, it doesn't seem to fit a need.

For a lot of stuff, like "what's my wife's shoe size?"  I could just fill in one of their private build-a-bear skill templates of stuff I need to know about my wife instead.

That's interesting, I'm wondering if they are trying to take a similar approach to the way Siri can remember things for you too.

I hope that by the time we get it here the bugs have been worked out. Such as the fact that it seems that, unless the card is still showing in the app from when you asked it to remember something, there is no way to ask it to forget it. This means that you can have something like this happen:

You: Alexa, remember the keys are in the drawer
Alexa: I'll remember that for you
...some time later...
You: Alexa, remember the keys are on the table
Alexa: I'll remember that for you
...some time later...
You: Alexa, Where are the keys?
Alexa: The keys are in the drawer. The keys are on the table.

The only way to make Alexa forget something you asked it to remember is to delete the record in the Alexa app. Unfortunately, there is no way to see a list of what you’ve asked Alexa to remember. To delete a memory record, you must find the request in your Alexa history log on the home screen of the Alexa app and select the delete option associated with the request. As you can imagine, this will become a nearly impossible task if you want to delete a memory record weeks or months later.

Probably not a good idea to ask Alexa to remember something sensitive such as a credit card PIN number.
