Difference between "Echo + Sonos Play1" and Echo built in to "Sonos One"

QUESTION:  Does the Sonos One (with its in-built Alexa) work identically to a separate Echo Dot and a separate Sonos speaker?

BACKGROUND:  I have several Echo Dots and several Sonos Play1 speakers.  The integration between Echo and Sonos isn't seamless but it works well enough.  I don't want to get a Sonos One if I have to use slightly different commands as it is already not entirely intuitive!

Any information would be welcome.
