If I'm in the living room, with music only in the kitchen, how can i ask living room Alexa to stop the music in the kitchen?

Alexa, stop playing in kitchen.

I can't do that with any of our devices. Do you have a skill set?

I recommend you go the routine route.

I recommend you go the routine route.
Would you be kind enough to explain how I would do it for this situation. Turn off music in TV room, Turn off music in family room, Turn off music in Den.

Would I be able to to do the same for turning on music in each of those locations with a routine?
Thanks.

As far as I know you can turn on/off any thing on routine so I don't see why not.

It would be under group and smart home category.

Just explore your routine function on your phone.

No, my devices do it automatically. You do need to make sure you're asking for the correct name of the device you wnat to stop.

Thanks that helped.  I had to be more precise than I was being i.e. Alexa turn offmusic in  the TV Room . It seems it won't work if I leave out "the".   I just tried it a few times without saying "the" in front of device and every time it won't work.
