Unable to use alexa app on Echo

Please, Can anyone help me out I'm having issues accessing my Alexa app using My Echo. I have recently ordered Echo Dot. it is yet to be received, I feel the issue has started one when the order was placed for Echo Dot. Please help me.

You can't use the app without the echo.   The setup is to plug in the echo then open the app.   The app should discover the echo then walk through the setup.

What exactly do you mean by "accessing" the app using your Echo?  What is it that you're trying to do?
