Echo using stereo speakers AND echo speaker

Not sure if this has been asked before but I am trying to connect my echo dot to external stereo speakers AND the echo dot unit which I also want to be used as a speaker.

Can this be done so that these both operate at the same time?

I don't always have the stereo unit on and I don't want to constantly switch it on and off in order to hear the Alexa responses.

Hi!  I don't think this is possible.  I have several DOTs in the house and each are hooked up to a larger "bookshelf" type stereo system to enjoy better sound.  I believe that once you connect the 3.5 to an Aux In it overrides and you now have sound from the larger system instead of the DOT.
