I have been using the Ring Skill for 3-4 weeks now, works well to announce motion or the doorbell press, my issue is I renamed my Ring Doorbell but Alexa still announces the old name

How can I get Alexa to update the device name in the announcement

Old name Front doorbell - announcement is, motion detected at the front doorbell
New name Front door
Preferred announcement, motion detected at the front door

I think re-discovering your devices should do the trick. That will make Alexa refresh its list of known devices.
Just say "Alexa, discover my devices." You can also do the same from the app. I think it's under Settings > Smart Devices.

Sorry, should have mentioned that I tried that already, no luck

Did you try removing the skill and starting over?

Looks like removing the device and re-discovering cleaned it right up

I finally got it to changed, had to delete the device and re-discover
