Renegade, my dear friend, I don't think you read my post correctly, I did not say I was trying to listen to the crappy Dot speaker with the stereo going strong, I said my Dot is "plugged into stereo", meaning the Dot audio out is directly plugged into the stereo's audio in for listening to music and not the Dot speaker at this time, and when the Dot is plugged into the stereo the audio from Dot is in the stereo speakers, not the Dot speaker. But, the music going on from stereo makes it difficult to give commands to Dot's mics when stereo volume is above a gentle volume level is just like with the Big Echo when it plays somewhat, or a lot more loud. I hope I have been clear explaining the situation better this time.
So, I am not disagreeing with what you first said, I am agreeing with you. I have the same issue you described of the Dot speaker and its mic are in close proximity making it difficult to give commands. And, you said that you have the Dot at Point A in the room and the BT speaker at Point B in the room and it makes it easier to give commands to Dot that way. Am I understanding correctly what you stated?
Therefore ,your chewing me out rant and inferring I did not know what I was doing, and that I even could possibly be an idiot was a bit over the top, and I would appreciate whatever sort of an apology you can muster up for your misunderstand this idiot.
And, my last general comments about the quality of the Dot speaker stands. I have a second Dot in bedroom, and when I listen to its speaker I know it is a crappy speaker -- even for voice. For maybe 50 cents more in production costs I feel that Amazon could have put in at least a speaker one notch above "sounds crappy" Jeeze, some kids pull toy speakers sound better than the Dot speaker does, for Pete's sake. I know they can't put in a speaker almost as good or better than Echo; if they did, nobody would buy the Echo anymore. I will say, that the Dot is ready enough for primetime, but the speaker and heat issue are not.
To close, I will say once again I love the Tap; so glad I got it. I set it up on the Comcast local hotspot, walked around the neighborhood, quickly lost internet connection to my router and soon got back the internet from the hotspot and hardly lost it at all on my walkabout. And, when I got back inside the house, Tap automatically reconnected to my router again.
