Alexa SMS and Phone calls in UK?

Hello,

I have a 2nd Generation Echo which is great for music and controlling my lights, but that is all I use it for. I think I would get so much more functionality out of it if I could reply to SMS texts or place calls. I know I can place calls to other Alexa devices but I don't see why America get to do both of these and we don't.

If anyone could see this being a feature soon or even find me a way to work around the problem that would be great. I have seen posts claiming that the feature would be added near to the start of 2018, but we are still waiting.

there may be skills where you can send sms but I don't think there is a way around the calling issue.
