Echo dot, performance issue with Bose Soundlink III and Spotify

Well Hello!
Here's the issue/scenario:

Echo Dot is connected to Bose Soundlink III via Bluetooth, It is playing music with Spotify
Echo Dot is successfully told to stop playing music ("Alexa Stop")
The user powers off Bose Soundlink III OR Interrupts its Bluetooth connection
Echo Dot immediately begins playing Spotify on internal speaker without being prompted

Has anyone experienced this issue? or found a solution?

Try saying Alexa stop playing Spotify.
