Amazon Echo 2nd gen - no start up sound or Bluetooth device notifications

Hello,

I have an assortment of Amazon echo devices around the house, Echo gen 1’s, and Dot’s.  That said, I recently purchased a 2nd gen Echo and noticed that it doesn’t make a startup sound or announce when my iPhone X connects or disconnects via Bluetooth.  All of my other Echo devices announce whenever a Bluetooth device connects or disconnects.  I can’t imagine that that this is by design.  Has anyone else noticed this and found a solution?
