Compilot II

I am profoundly deaf and use a bluetooth device (call Compilot II) to connect to various devices.   i have managed to connect to my Echo (2nd Gen).   Unfortunately this cuts the sound from the Echo speaker (which is not great for the wife as hears nothing).  Is there away I can have sound from the speaker and to my Compilot II.    I have tried creating a group but it cant find my Compilot.   I am possibly doing something wrong or it just cant be done.

Unfortunately when it comes to the Echo, it can only output to one audio device. If you use Bluetooth, the internal speaker is shut off. If you plug in an audio cable, Bluetooth and the internal speaker are both shut off.

But I imagine that this should do what you want:

You'll need to get the following. Any brand should work. I'm just including a random choice from a quick search on Amazon.

The 3.5mm audio cable will plug in to the back of your Echo Dot. All audio will go through this audio cable from here on. On one side of the audio cable, you'll plug in the Bluetooth transmitter. The other side you'll plug in the powered speakers. Now you must pair your ComPilot II to the Bluetooth transmitter. If it's already paired to the Echo Dot, remove that pairing. You should not pair or connect to the Echo Dot any more. You should pair only to the Bluetooth transmitter.
