Alexa App and Echo - Now Playing?

Hello,

When I start music on my Echo device from the iOS Alexa app or directly by voice on the Echo device, I usually cannot find a Now Playing screen.  Sometimes the Recent area shows an album cover with a Equalizer symbol; if I Select that icon I get the Now Playing screen where I can then see the Playlist.  Why is this not always the case?
