Alexa ignores numbers on shopping lists

If I tell Alexa, "Add five lemons to my shopping list", she'll reply, "I've added lemons to your shopping list". Then, when I look on my phone, the list will just read "Lemons", with no record of the number of lemons I wanted.

How come? Surely this is not just happening to me.

If I say, "Alexa, add a pint of cream to my shopping list", she recognizes the "pint" and puts it on this list.

That's wacky.

Is this fixable?
