Guard issue on Echo Dot

Guard will not allow me to enable the glass breakage or the smoke/CO2 alarm sound function. They are grayed out on the settings page. I removed and reloaded the app and checked the dot to be sure it’s up to date and listed as capable of this function. Amazon help was a joke....
Any ideas?

Did you include at least one of your Echo devices in the Guard Settings? You must have one or more Echo devices added to Guard so that those devices can listen for smoke/CO2 alarms. I have 10 Echo devices in my home and I set 8 of them to be listening. See screenshot. I also have the Ring Alarm system. I'm not sure if that's required for this to work.
