Echo show has gone deaf.

My Echo Show responds perfectly to the "Alexa" command to start things off but once it is playing the radio or music it becomes deaf to the command and I need to stop it by tapping the "pause" feature on the screen. It works perfectly for 18 months and it still does even with the television blaring away in the background. Other people seem to be having similar problems so why has there been no software update?

that has always been a problem for me.  I would connect the echo to speakers across the room from it so it can hear better when playing music
