two echo dot 4th gen

I had set up a 4th gen echo dot  for a family member, which worked fine so  we decided to get a second one,   which was set up on the same network,  two different names  in two different rooms,
we are now getting a red light and a voice statement of, I cant do that now try later when we try to access Alexa,
each one works fine  on their own,  when the second one is disconnected,
