Alexa app on android phone wont start. Causes "Certificate error. Please update Google Chrome"
Google Chrome is already updated.
Have reinstalled Alexa app. No difference.

I'm on Apple and I have to open the Alexa app two times every time I try and use it. The second time it actually opens. The first time it opens and shuts like it was exited by me... flashes up the home screen for a micro-second then back to the phone's home screen. I use it to shop for the list capabilities between home and multiple [hones, so it's a bit aggrivating at times... but I muddle through.

Are you using an older Android phone?

Many older phones use a security certificate from Let's Encrypt.  Let's Encrypt had one of its older root certificates expire in September 2021. This causes devices, software/apps, or websites that use the old certificate to error out.

Using a xiaomi phone.
MI Note 3 running Android version 9 PKQ1.181007.001 with security patch level 2020-01-01

Techcrunch (TC) advises:
"look into whether serving a certificate chain with our new cross-sign makes sense"

This is gobbledy-gook to me !
Anyone offering clarity would be appreciated.

I can get it to work on my iPhone and iPads but it refuses to open on my fire HD 8 tablet!
