Alexa Echo alerts across different accounts and properties
« on: January 01, 2022, 06:10:46 pm »
My parents have four Echo Dots, all of which were bought by me as gifts. They have all been reset and setup on my Dad's Amazon account and that's where they appear. None of his devices appear in my Alexa app, or vice versa. My own Echoes all appear in my own account.

However, when any kind of alert comes through, it goes to all units. So, if he has a delivery coming or send a message to another room, it comes through on all my Echo units. This wasn't a major problem until now, but my Dad got a Ring doorbell for Christmas. I set it up tonight and all the alerts are coming through to my house and his.

I really need to sort this, but there is no obvious link between the two accounts, other than the fact I bought his Echo units for him using my Amazon account. Can anyone help, please.

Ensure you went into your Amazon account, looked at your devices and deregister all the Dots from there.  I have always done this with the devices I give away or sell and have never had this issue.
