Help with a connect problem

Anyone know how to stop Alexa announcing a call without her hanging up on the person calling? I asked her to stop as I wanted to be able to hear my phone and she promptly hung up on my husband. I don't mind the announcement but I do want to be able to quieten the announcement without hanging up on the person calling. TIA Becca

are you linked to a phone carrier in the alexa app?     If so, you can answer using alexa and not the phone by saying: Alexa answer call.   

Or you can pick up your phone and answer like normal.   It should stop the announcement.   I do not think there is a way to do what you want other than tell alexa to lower the volume.
