Why Does Echo Device Demand a Reply
« on: October 29, 2024, 12:23:36 pm »
My biggest problem with my Echo Show device is that I cannot tell it to remind me at a certain time without having it require me to respond to the reminder.  If I don't happen to be available at that time the Echo Show sort of goes crazy and gets louder and louder until I respond.

I would like to use my Echo Show without having to respond.  Any way to do that?

Thanks,
BillW

some features require a response to stop it.   Nothing you can do about it.

That kind of defeats the usefulness of Alexa in an Echo device!
Thanks for the reply.

Agreed, I don't use reminders but use routines for my reminder needs.
However I just looked at reminders and in the settings which I assume affects all reminders is a setting for announcement count you may have this set to persistant.

I disagree.   If it stops without action, and you did not hear it, you would be on here complaining about not hearing it.    I do think amazon should copy google on stopping reminders, alarms and timers.   Forget the wake word, just say stop.
