Yea, but think of the number of people who will be wetting their pants if they have push notifications turned on - especially if they live by themselves.

A new world of possibilities can be opened up with push notifications.
Just a few cool things would be voice messaging (phone calls), calendar reminders, intercom, weather warnings.

No, that's just another bit of request-response functionality.  This is about adding the ability to push voice notifications to your Echo without you having to say anything to trigger them...which hasn't happened yet.
