I've been using both of these and they're really handy little tools.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/24/us/gmails-undo-send-option-can-help-end-email-embarrassment.html?rref=technologyUndo send allows you the opportunity to change your mind-you better be quick. You only have between 10-30 seconds. For most of us, that's enough time to realize our mistakes! LOL!!
Boomerang
http://www.boomeranggmail.com/is nifty because
you can schedule when you want the email delivered. I think you can delay anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 days.
Another nifty feature (you have to scroll down the page) Boomerang offers is the same service for Calendar. Don't you hate it when you're trying to schedule a meeting or event and no one can agree on a date and time? You go round and round with email after email. Boomerang calendar allows you to let people know when you're available so there's no question.
One more gush about Boomerang (no, I don't work for them). They have a product called INBOX PAUSE. You can pause getting new emails for however long you want. You're out to lunch or dinner with a client. You need to have your phone on for important calls but don't want to be interrupted by pesky notifications from UPS sending you another delivery update. Hit INBOX PAUSE and poof-your inbox is put on hold until you release it.
You control your email-it doesn't control you. I'm going to try this feature and see how it works. I teach school and am constantly interrupted by email notifications.
Try these out and see what happens.
