1. Own a SmartPhone - any kind will do
2. Download an app that allows you to play music as part of an alarm
3. On your computer, record something like "ALEXA NEWS"  Make sure there's a suitable pause after ALEXA.
4. Sync the "song" from your computer onto your SmartPhone
5. Set the alarm app to play your new song at the time you wish
6. Put the phone next to Alexa....  that's it.  It sounds a lot more complicated than it is.

Worked great for me on an iPhone.  You can use this to include any skill you want as part of your Flash Briefing. You can use this technique to activate *ANY* skill at any time on your Alexa.

If this works for you, please leave a comment on what phone and app you used.  Also, if you have any suggestions on improving the technique.  Or, just to say you tried it  :)

Thanks for the reminder, but this has been around for a while now:

I can't remember where I read this, but I saw a post where someone had an alarm app on their phone that could play custom sounds when the alarm went off. In this case, he would record "Alexa play (X) on iheartradio" and use that as his alarm sound. He would then set the phone within earshot of the Echo and have the alarm go off at 7:25am. I can't remember the name of the alarm app, though, sorry."
