Interesting! (at least to me)
« on: February 16, 2017, 08:02:51 pm »
While listening to the radio on my DOT, I set an "alert" alarm to remind me to take a med.  When the alarm came on, by mistake instead of saying "Echo stop," I said "Echo off." The alarm stopped & the radio program continued.
I started testing on other skillz that I have.  The word "off" works better FOR ME then saying the word "stop."

Telling it to Shut Up also works!  There are lots of synonyms that work for commands.

I believe the "off" command is short for "alarm off" which only works while an alarm is activated. I'm not sure if it has any effect at any other time.

I like the shut up command.

'Be quiet' also seems to work! Recently, I've found some of the lead-in words such as 'set' and 'play' have become redundant so that, 'sleep timer, 20 minutes' works, as does, 'BBC radio 6'. 'Off' didn't work just now for radio but I'll give it a go later when I set a timer.
