I can't preset the alarm volume on my ECHO
« on: June 03, 2017, 11:35:55 pm »
I got my ECHO last summer, and every time I try to
preset the volume on my ECHO using the Alexa app on
my browser, IE, or Google browser. It tells me it can't find
my volume settings and to try again later. Well it's been much
later with still no Joy.

I have tried with a windows 10 PC .. Also a windows 7 pro PC
I am using a Linksys EA3500 Dual band N750 router.
I restart the ECHO and a DOT I have every day. I can't
set the volume on the DOT either.

I click the reminder and alarms
I choose alarm
I click on volume and get can't find sound settings try again later.
No slider adjustment..

I asked for help here last January, and got some friendly advice,
but still haven't been able to make it work. The ECHO and DOT
work fine except for changing the alarm sound, and preseting the
volume for alarm or timer.

I would appreciate any ideas. :-)

Good grief!  Why haven't you Called tech support - 1 877-375-9365?

Make sure your browsers are all up to date.
Have you tried Firefox?

Google browser
???
Do you mean Chrome?

FWIW....
The Alexa browser app has been very unstable for me since all of the various FF & Mac OS updates.  However, the app is very stable using Safari.  In my case, I think FF is the culprit.

Mac
Sierra OS 10.12.5
FF v53.0.3

It still does not work. I have tried Firefox, Google Crome and Internet
explorer. All current updates.

My Router has the latest firmware.

I still get the same error message when I try to open the sound setting
for the alarm or timer.

As I have said before it's strange that no one else seems to have the
problem. At least I haven't found anyone else saying they do.

I am on DSL with download rates 1 to 2 megs a second. Echo plays
music just fine. I have avoided calling Amazon support because I
have a vision problem that makes reading  text difficult. So it
takes time for me to follow instructions. At this point I guess I will
have to try, and hope who ever I reach gives me the time I need.

If successful I will post what was needed to fix it.

Thanks again..
