Setup with Dot

Ok, I'm seriously mechanically impaired.  Just got my dot and am trying to setup.  It wants a WiFi password, router, etc.  Help please

It wants your router's password so it can get online. Put that in then follow the instructions on your app.

Spirish maybe you are like me. I didn't have a clue that we had a password to our router lol.  Now I know and have it in my password app. Good luck with the set up.  Just go slowly and follow each instruction. If you need help come back and ask. If you don't have the app, you can use the computer and use alexa.amazon.com

I think terminology is getting mixed up and it is confusing people.   you do not need the router password to setup your dot but you do need the wifi password.  It is the same password or security key you used when you set up your smartphone and computers  to work on wifi.
