echo language and app supported languages, what is the relation?

I have an echo synced to the american skills but I prefer the british english voice and accent, however, when echo is with british and a skill supports only american english it does not work... is this meant to be?

Yap. I use Brit accent on my echo too. Maybe if enough people complain Amazon will do some thing about it.

I don't use skill much so it doesn't affect me much.
