Alexa not available on extended network

I have a media room (Detatched garage the I turned into a media room) and my network signal doesn't reach that far. So I bought a range extender. I set it up last night and it is connected to both the 2.4 and 5 GHZ networks and from my phone I can get to the internet through it. but I can't see my echos from that network. So not sure what to do as I have a dot that i would like to put in the media room but the WIFI signal is just too bad without the extender.

If the Dot was previously configured prior to you adding the extender go to your alexa app and search for a new Wi-Fi source. You should see the extender as a access point tell alexa to use it.
