Bought an echo dot for disabled family member without smartphone. Set it up using Android Alexa app on my smartphone.
Drop-in from Alexa app is handy. Easy for me to checkin remotely. Like to get the reverse communication working. I realize they could just ask Echo to call my mobile number. Are there ways for Echo just to call the Alexa app?
The reason I am looking for this is I have found VOIP to VOIP apps usually works well (like skype, hangouts, facetime etc..) But when they call a mobile or land line through carrier's network, quality usually degrades. For example, googlevoice/OOMA calling moble/land line.
