Alexa remote

When I got my Echo Dot I also got a Fire Stick with an Alexa remote.
In the  of the Alexa app you can pair a remote and I have tried to pair the remote that came with my Fire Stick but it says it can't detect it. I've looked at the help for this and did everything suggested but it just will not pair.
Is the Alexa Fire Stick remote compatible with the Echo Dot or is there a separate remote for it?

two different remotes.  fire stick remote will not pair with the echo dot.
