FYI today 3/2 there are issues with alexa but not at our end

i was having weird never before issues this morning with alexa. some commands worked at times then did not. example alexa turn on living room lights. it did but then to turn off, i'm sorry i don't know what went wrong. so i did the standard unplug replug and it worked for one command. then next attempt to use same response, sorry i don't know what went wrong.

so i checked online, thought maybe with the storm hitting the east coast and the location of amazon's servers could be in play? both web sites that record internet problems show a 600%+ increase in trouble reports today for amazon.

so in all likelihood if experiencing weird issues with alexa today, don't fret, the problem isn't at our end.

UPDATE: March 2, 2018, 2:47 p.m. EST: Alexa services appear to be coming back online across the country. The website downdetector.com is reporting significantly fewer issues.
