Controlling your tv's with Echo
« on: November 29, 2018, 08:13:05 am »
Hi I have a Echo Plus with 3 dots and what I would like to do is control just the on off of my tv's. They are all Samsung smart tv's but one but pre 2016.
I have tried several things e.g. smart things etc  but not got any to work yet.
Any help appreciated.

any smart plug should work.  I use wemo's on both of my tvs to turn them on/off.

Take a look at some of the Broadlink Universal remotes. They're Alexa capable & might be a cheaper alternative. They will also work with other devices that have IR remotes.

I use a Broadlink rm pro to control my none smart Samsung as well as an older smart Samsung  TV witout issue the remote works for both so that may have a bearing but I can control soney and LG TVs  as well with the Broadlink.
