Any way to have Echo input ignore timers?

I have an echo in the kitchen and an echo input in the adjacent living room. The sound system attached to the Echo input is usually off. Sometimes the input picks up a kitchen timer request, and if the sound system is off we obviously don’t hear the timer. Is there any way to have the input ignore timer requests, or have both the input and kitchen echo both announce the timer?

not really much you can do.  move it if possible.
