If you ask Alexa to tell you about gold she will goto Wikipedia and then tell you that the Periodic Symbol for gold is ( O ). The actual symbol is AU.

That's something you can report to Amazon's Alexa support. You can do it through the app, phone, live chat, or email.

On my Echo Spot, the scrolling text displays the symbol for gold, correctly, as Au. “Oh” is simply Alexa’s attempt to pronounce this symbol.
