Newsflash: Not recognizing what has been played

Hi all,
If I pause Amazon News flash and then replay, it will start over from the very beginning.  I have the Echo for 2 weeks and I'm confident that, for the first week, it would re start where it left off.  I have 20 briefings and need to keep telling Alexa to 'skip'.  I've done some searching, but haven't found anything on how to address.  Can anyone help?

I use PAUSE and RESUME to momentarily suppress the flash briefing.  'Play the news' always starts from the beginning.  Try to 'Pause' and then 'Resume', hope that helps.
